I swear it’s awesome guys, it took me all day.

Note: the first part was shamelessly stolen from taken from the original Gabilliam manifesto, but given that said manifesto is from 2008, I decided to re do it and add all the Gabilliam proof that came after that. Some posts were copied and pasted and some were modified and then there are certain things that I added.

Let’s begin, shall we?

This is William Eugene Beckett Junior. He’s the lead singer if The Academy Is… and he’s got the best hips you will ever see. 

No, really, look

Once upon a time, he had long beautiful hair and wore really tight clothes and used to get drunk a lot bend over on stage or spread his legs like this

Now he has short hair and is a father and doesn’t dress or act like a slut anymore, but he is as beautiful as ever

And then we’ve got Gabe.

Gabe Saporta is the lead singer of Cobra Starship and former singer/bassist of Midtown. He was born in Uruguay and his Spanish makes every girl weak on the knees (even if it is pretty bad.)

He used to have the coolest jewfro in the history of the world and wear really colorful crazy clothes that made people doubt his sexuality.

He has since grown up and started wearing big boy clothes that may I say look just as good.

(I refuse to post a picture of Gabe’s latest haircut because I can’t look at it without crying so just picture him with no hair. Sad right? I know.)

Okay, now that we’re done with introductions let’s move on to what really matters, which is that Gabe and William love each other.

No, really, they do.

Their love started back in the Midtown days.
William lived in Chicago and played in bands with Patrick Stump, and he was a huge Midtown fan, (here is a video where Sisky and William talk about going to see Midtown.) Somehow, somewhere, Gabe and William met and The Academy Is… started touring with Midtown.

Look at baby!Bill being carried by what looks like a rodie, and Gabe lurking in the background. 

After Midtown broke up (though Gabe said technically they didn’t break up,) Gabe was in the desert and was bit by a cobra, which caused him to hallucinate. He had a vision of himself going up to a spaceship and a cobra teaching him how to dance. 

Hanging out with William he heard about the movie Snakes On A Plane and decided to write a song for the soundtrack. He wrote Snakes On A Plane with William and then recorded the song with Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) and Maja Ivarsson (The Sounds.) These four people were referred to as the ‘supergroup.’

The background for the song and the creation of the group is explained in the Making of Cobra Starship Music Video “Snakes On A Plane.”

Here is the official music video, in which you can appreciate the lustful looks Gabe and William share in the beginning.

That’s the supergroup. Please notice Gabe’s arm around William and William’s ‘he’s mine, bitches’ expression.

Here are some pictures from the SOAP premiere. I know there is a video premiere where William basically runs up to Gabe and hugs him, but I couldn’t find it so pictures will have to do.

ive got some explaining to do: 

i came out here on monday to shoot a video on tuesday with william and travis for snakes on a plane (more on that in a miinute). i was supposed to leave tonight, but the academy are shooting their video tomorrow so i decided to stay one more day. but i kinda got kicked out of the hotel, so i had to sneak into william’s room for the last night. ok, that’s a lie. the truth is i ate all the pringles from the minibar and didnt have the cash to pay for it, so they wouldnt let me stay an extra night. ok, that’s also a lie. the truth is the hotel was sold out. fine, another lie. if you really want to know the truth, i just want to snuggle next to william.

After the video was made, Gabe assembled a group of musicians who make up (with the exception of Vicky T, who replaced earlier member Elisa) the current incarnation of Cobra Starship. They’ve toured with The Academy Is… a lot, as well as with other FBR bands.

Their first record, which includes a track entitled “It’s Warmer in the Basement,” is also the origin of the mythical “Gabe’s basement.” You will frequently see references to this in fandom.

As Gabe says:

“This song is about loving a girl so much you want to keep her tied up in the basement and not share her with the rest of the world. Sometimes I kept William Beckett locked up in the basement for a while. So no one else would see him. I want him all to myself. Little snuggle buddy.”

Ryland: “That’s where they wrote the song. It used to be called Lovers In A Basement, but they changed it to Snakes On A Plane.”/

Wow, you might be saying to yourself at this point. Gabe actually ships Gabe/William, doesn’t he?

As a matter of fact, he does. During an interview with fans at the Snakes On A Plane soundtrack premiere, Gabe found out about Treckett (Travis McCoy/William Beckett). His response?

“Now my question is, where do I fall into that? ‘Cause I don’t see a Greckett, or a Treckgabe…”

Just in case you still don’t believe him, he makes certain to throw in casual suggestive comments regarding William whenever possible. It’s long, but if you watch the Guy Ripley’s True Things on TAI TV at the Reading and Leeds festivals, there is a notable moment near the end of part one of Gabe yelling, “Ass looks great, William!”

At the same festival, William does an interview where he talks about playing with Cobra Starship, saying that they’ve been a part of his life for so long that without them, it will be like going into a relapse.

From part two:

“Like, this whole ‘Decaydance family thing,’ right? I think that a lot of people don’t realize how, like, real it is, like, we’re all really, really, really good friends, and you know, and we respect each other as artists and musicians, but also as people and individuals, and our personalities, and just…especially with Cobra, we really haven’t been as close to any other band.”

The interviewer also tries to get William to tell her a secret about Cobra Starship by telling him that the only thing they’re going to get from this interview is that Gabe is a worse friend than William – because he told a secret about their band and William didn’t – and William says, “Oh well. That’s okay, I’m sure that he used discretion in his secret.”

Whenever they’re on tour together, or even in the same city, William tends to come onstage with Cobra Starship for Snakes On A Plane. Gabe in turn guests with TAI… for a song, most recently Classifieds. Very often, as you might expect, onstage shenanigans occur.

William took a break from touring to fly out to the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in order to perform with Cobra Starship. In addition to Gabe introducing William by saying, “Give it up for my boy William Beckett” and screaming “Will!” right before the chorus, there’s a lovely interlude during Travis’ rap where the two of them start goofing off together in the background.

While they were there, Gabe interviewed William on the red carpet. Highlights: They’re both wearing mismatched socks. Gabe gets distracted by boobies in the middle, and William hastily reclaims his attention. William says that he likes playing Same Blood live because Gabe likes Same Blood, and then they sing their own alternate version of it together.

And this is where the original manifesto finishes, but HEY, there has been more Gabilliam since that, so I decided to add my two cents.

And what better way to begin than with a video of them stating the things they love about each other.

And talking about the kiss, this is what William thinks of Gabe’s kissing skills:

“That sounded like I meant something different, didn’t it? I’m encouraging the fanfiction. You know, I write the majority of it myself. But if you want to know the real-life pairings, Gabe’s the best kisser.”

Apparently, we are not the only ones who ship them. You know who else ships Gabilliam? GABE SAPORTA. 

Not only does he ship it, he writes fanfiction about it. Yes, that’s correct. Gabe Saporta wrote a fic in which he was the president of the United States, and William was his ‘life partner.’ No, I am not making this up, you can read it here.

Also, to remind us that he LOVES William, Gabe does things like this

Also, when asked what he thought of the rumors about him and William he laughed and said they weren’t rumors because it was true. that can be found here.

Which brings me to my personal experience with Gabe and Gabilliam.

Last year I went to see Black Cards in Poughkeepsie and surprise surprise! Gabe was there. After crying and having him calm me down from my slight panic attack, I told him (still between tears) that I had moved to the U.S. to meet him, William Beckett, and I was going to continue listing people when he interrupted me and said

“FUCK YEAH WILLIAM BECKETT.”

to which I responded 

“FUCK YEAH GABILLIAM.”

and he said “FUCK YEAH, HIGH FIVE!”

and proceeded to high five me.

Later that night, he was signing autographs and I was being an annoying fangirl and I asked him:

“HOW COME YOU DON’T TWEET WILLIAM ANYMORE?”

and at first he pretended not to know who William was and I got all offended but then he said

“I TEXT HIM NOW” and winked.

Then on May 25th, 2012, during one of William’s solo shows, someone gave William a paper puppet that said GABILLIAM. 

Not only did he tweet Gabe about it, but also this video happened, in which HE brought up Gabilliam, and then sort of maybe totally jokingly admitted that he and Gabe spent a night together. Good? Good.
